Our Brewery

Based in Mettricks' Portswood cafe-bar in Southampton, we brew 10hl batches right where you can see the workings of the brewhouse from your table. Our creative focus is brewing beers with a simple complexity to provide the ideal backdrop to company and conversation, delve in a little further though and you'll find plenty to satiate the most curious drinkers.

The base of all Ascapart beer is superb East Anglian malt from Crisp Maltings. Depending on the beer style, we then layer with expressive, fruit forward hops from the YCH grower-owners in the Yakima Valley or delicate, herbal English hops. Fermentation is always carried out under pressure to create a clean profile and retain naturally produced carbonation for softer bubbles. 

Our Head Brewer Jimmy Hatherley has had his own adventures, starting his career in beer back in 2010 working for and running various breweries in that time. This experience and a passion for continuous development in both quality and expression is infused into every Ascapart beer.
